Chas Dingle’s (Lucy Pargeter) accusation that Ella Forster (Paula Lane) drugged her triggers something dark in the unhinged GP receptionist in Emmerdale.
When Ella gate-crashed Chas and Liam Cavanagh’s (Jonny McPherson) engagement party, she caused quite the ruckus with her jealousy, which ultimately saw Chas collapse.
Ella was later blamed for this, accused of drugging Chas in spiteful revenge. Now Ella is out to prove her innocence, no matter what she has to do.
Chas relents and withdraws her statement, but Ella is digging her heals in – she point blank refuses to leave the village. Why should she if she did nothing?
While Ella is still under the microscope, she vows to prove that what really happened is that Chas framed her. She confronts Liam and begs him to see sense, that his fiancé is addicted to pain killers.
Ella clearly still has sway over Liam, as it’s not long before he goes in search of the drugs in Chas’ cupboards.
But while he might be a fan of fictional supersleuths, he certainly isn’t one himself. The bumbling doc is foiled by Chas when she finds him not-so-discreetly rifling through her things.

Chas is furious and heads straight into a confrontation with Ella. Ella is not backing down – she insists Chas is stuck on drugs.
It backfires on Ella, as the next day Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) demands she moves out of the house.
Hurt, betrayed, vengeful, Ella makes a move of retribution against Manpreet – she announces to the world that everyone’s favourite female doc, the village ‘heroine’, has been posting smutty pictures online.
Manpreet’s reputation in tatters, is that Ella having the last laugh?
