There’s terror and trauma ahead in EastEnders next week, as the latest spoilers for the BBC soap confirm.

Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) finds herself at the centre of a police drama and, despite being innocent, she is left devastated after being strip searched.

Her family soon notice her state and, when Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) finds out what has happened to his daughter, he is on the warpath.

Meanwhile, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is back on the Square and he soon makes a mistake with best mate Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley).

Later, led by George Knight (Colin Salmon), the men of Walford come together with a fresh idea.

Monday March 24

Lily is struggling with grief, so Avani suggests that she, Lily, and Amy avoid school and have an adventure instead. Priya catches them but Avani manages to convince her to turn a blind eye as she’s trying to cheer Lily up.

They are having a laugh until they bump into Marvin the boy who sold Avani vapes last year, and he offers them drugs. Although Avani refuses, the police arrive and realise the girls are skiving school and then spot a bag of pills that Marvin has dropped by Avani’s feet.

They take the girls to the police station, where Jack and Jean separately come to retrieve Amy and Lily. However, neither Priya nor Ravi answer calls about Avani, and she’s horrified when the officers explain they need to strip search her as they believe she could have more drugs concealed.

Phil is home and grateful for the family and Nigel’s support, but he isn’t ready for his friends and neighbours to know he’s been in a psychiatric hospital.

Later, in the café, Nigel makes some mistakes, and Phil blurts out to frustrated Bernie that Nigel is ill. Angry, Nigel snaps back.

Linda gets a welcome call from the insurance company that they will get the payout to rebuild The Vic, but her excitement soon disappears when heavy-handed Elaine takes over.

As Linda moans to Denise, Kim suggests she needs to divert her attention elsewhere and suggests she gets back in the dating game, but Linda dismisses and quickly diverts her efforts to setting Johnny up with Felix.

Tuesday March 25

At the police station, a terrified Avani is strip-searched by two female officers and refuses the offer of an appropriate adult in the room.

Later, Suki arrives, having been tipped off by Jean, and is horrified to hear what’s happened, but Avani won’t allow her to lodge a complaint.

Back at No.41, Priya questions Avani on her whereabouts and an argument breaks out  between the pair as Avani suggests that Priya is a bad mother.

It’s not long before Priya discovers that Avani was detained and strip searched, and Priya storms over to No.27 to rage to Jack about Avani’s ordeal at the hands of officers at his police station.

Lily and Amy are horrified to discover what has happened, but humiliated Avani lashes out at Suki and Amy and flees. Once alone at home, Avani breaks down.

Wednesday March 26

Suki, Priya, and Eve are deeply worried about Avani. Later, Avani makes her way to the playground to drink a bottle of vodka.

Nigel is deeply apologetic for sharing Phil’s secret, but Phil tries to brave it out.

George wants to be there for Phil but the pair find it difficult to open up. Meanwhile, when Linda texts to ask how his appointment went, Nigel lies that he went to see the doctor.

Linda’s plan to matchmake Johnny and Felix gathers pace. Later, she muses on her promise to herself that she’d move on and be happy and decides to let Kim find her a date.

Elsewhere, Gina and Anna ask Nicola for bar work at Harry’s Barn, but she only has one job, so she tells them they’ll need to compete for the role.

Thursday March 27

Priya and Ravi are horrified to realise that Avani has gone AWOL, and things get even worse when they find her passed out in the playground.

After a trip to the doctor, Ravi starts to realise something is badly wrong and finally gets the truth from Suki.

George asks Linda how best to support Phil, and she advises him not to give up on talking to his friend.

Later, George asks Phil to be his sparring partner at The Boxing Den, and the activity helps Phil get comfortable enough to start opening up a little.

Following the successful session, George goes to see Nigel to suggest a new regular club called ‘Box and Bantz’ for over 40s at the gym.

Gina and Anna arrive at Harry’s Barn for their trial but discover it’ll be Harry, not Nicola, putting them through their paces.

Things get fractious when Harry takes great delight in winding Gina up. Elsewhere, Linda is nervous as she prepares to meet her date, Jeff, as Johnny tries to reassure her.

Later, Linda meets Jeff at Harry’s Barn and attempts to relax and make small talk.
