Coronation Street fans were left puzzled when Kit Green turned up in recent scenes wielding a pair of crutches.
The character, portrayed by former Hollyoaks actor Jacob Roberts, first appeared on the ITV programme last year.
Corrupt police officer Kit arrived as Bernie Winter’s (Jane Hazlegrove) long-lost son – and it’s safe to say he wasted no time getting embroiled in some chaos.

From pressuring beloved Beth Tinker (Lisa George) to flee town, to discovering he’s the biological father of wayward teenager Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey), Kit’s stint in Weatherfield has been packed with turmoil.

Moreover, last month, he was left fighting for his life following a stabbing attack by murderer Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) who had broken out of jail, reports the Daily Star. Thankfully, Kit was rushed to A&E and has been on the mend ever since.
Nevertheless, soap watchers have recently been perplexed after spotting Kit using walking aids.
He was seen with them during Monday’s instalment (August 4) whilst attempting to bond with Brody. Kit was using them once more when Bernie wed Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) in Wednesday’s episode (August 6).

Bewildered, one fan posted on a Corrie Facebook group: “Why is Kit on crutches?”. Another commented: “I thought that as well.” A third remarked: “My thoughts exactly! .”
It transpires there’s a genuine explanation for Kit’s mobility aids. During filming, performer Jacob was recuperating from an operation on his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

This ligament extends diagonally through the centre of the knee. The actor had previously discussed the operation with OK! Magazine, revealing that somebody had photographed him whilst he was coming round from the procedure.
“I had ACL and meniscus surgery and while I was waking up in the recovery room, someone took a picture of me. I told the nurse and she asked them to delete it. I don’t mind a picture, but I don’t want to be photographed waking up from anaesthetic,” he explained.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
