Two death plots for Coronation Street
When a body is found close to the Weatherfield hospital, the police suspect that it could be Carla’s brother Rob Donovan and they ask her to provide a formal identification. What will she find at the mortuary?
Meanwhile, in a separate storyline, Coronation Street insiders have warned fans to expect a tragic summer plot.
On-set sources have suggested that Craig Tinker’s exit from the show will see him killed off in heroic circumstances. This news hasn’t been confirmed by soap bosses just yet, so we’ll have to stay tuned to see how it all plays out.
Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas confirms return
Coronation Street‘s Ryan Thomas has confirmed reports that he’s returning to the soap to play a role in his on-screen mum’s exit storyline.
Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw, called Ryan specially and asked him to consider reprising his role as Jason for her final scenes.
Ryan warned that it won’t be a long return, joking that he’d only be back “for five minutes”.
Emmerdale exit for Gail Loman
Emmerdale star Rachael Gill-Davis is leaving the soap, six years after her first ever appearance as Gail Loman.
The news was revealed near the start of the week, with on-set sources suggesting that Rachael is departing “amicably” with the door left open for a possible return in the future.
A show spokesperson declined to provide further details at this stage, so there’s no word yet on what Gail’s exit plot will be.
EastEnders guest role for Keith Allen
EastEnders bosses have cast Keith Allen for a guest role in a special episode focusing on Phil Mitchell’s mental health.
Keith will play the role of Gaz, a fellow patient who’s befriended by Phil as they both spend time in a mental health unit.
Set across four weeks, the episode will focus on Phil’s journey from the moment he started treatment and how things developed from there.
EastEnders legends film final scenes
It’s been a real treat to see Sonia Fowler and Bianca Jackson reunited on EastEnders over the past year, but all good things must come to an end.
Natalie Cassidy announced on her podcast this week that she has now filmed her final scenes as Sonia. Her exit from the BBC soap was first revealed in January.
Meanwhile, Patsy Palmer shared the news on Instagram that she has now finished filming after her year-long return stint as Bianca.
Home and Away return for Karen Thompson
Home and Away’s Karen Thompson is returning to the soap as part of Dean and Ziggy’s big comeback storyline.
Karen plays a role in the upcoming scenes which see Mackenzie Booth and Levi Fowler pay a visit to Dean and Ziggy in Queensland.
Georgia Adamson, who plays Karen, last featured on the show in 2023.
Neighbours death for classic character
Neighbours airs emotional scenes next week as Toadie Rebecchi returns and announces the death of his dad Big Kev.
Big Kev was revealed to have terminal cancer last year and Toadie has been devoting his time to supporting him over the past few months.
Toadie’s reappearance comes ahead of Neighbours’ 40th anniversary episodes, which see a handful of familiar faces return.

Hollyoaks killer Jeremy Blake has a surprise proposal lined up next week.
