For a moment there it looked like Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) had turned a corner in Emmerdale.
They shared a poignant moment scattering baby Rebecca’s ashes by the river and it looked like they might be slowly getting back on track.
When they returned home, Marlon was taken aback when April offered to go and check on young Ivy.
The developments between then were needed after Marlon’s shenanigans in framing April’s pal Dylan by planting drugs on him in a bid to get him away from his daughter.
It backfired when the teen went on to overdose and ended up hospitalised in a critical condition. Marlon then forked out for his rehab through guilt.
But Marlon is not a fast learner and is only too ready to put his foot in it again when it comes to showing his trust of April.
She’s been begging him to give her space and treat her like an adult, but when faced with another opportunity to do this, he throws it down the toilet.
He receives a letter from Dylan from rehab, and makes a crucial decision – he hides it from April.

Voice of reason Paddy (Dominic Brunt) tells him he absolutely must share it, but Marlon is having none of it. He thinks he’s being ‘protective’.
April is still struggling with her return to school and the chasm between her and her friends ever widening, so she needs her family more than ever.
What will happen to her when she discovers her dad’s latest betrayal?
