Coronation Street has aired an explosive showdown between Tracy McDonald and Cassie Plummer, as the latter’s manipulation of Ken Barlow is exposed.
Cassie has been acting as Ken’s unofficial carer, but has secretly been spiking his drinks to make him doze off, while she’s been making expensive purchases with his credit card.
In tonight’s episode, Cassie made up excuses to not let Ken look at his own account after his card got declined.
Later on, she made them both a cup of tea, but when she put them down he switched the mugs and asked her to drink. When she was hesitant, he called her out and told her to not even try denying it.
“I just got into the mindset of no-one’s gonna offer so I take for myself,” she said, as she made out like she couldn’t help herself. “I wasn’t trying to hurt you, Ken.”
“I saw the good in you. What you say in me was a silly old fool,” he retorted, raising his voice more and more until he kicked her out.
As soon as Cassie left, Ken grasped at his chest and collapsed in his chair.
Luckily, Tracy and Amy managed to find Ken and call an ambulance.
Over at the Bistro, Cassie sat down with love interest Steve and built herself up to confessing what she’d done. They 
were interrupted by Amy, who burst in and said that Ken wasn’t well.
At the hospital, the family were told that Ken had a heart attack and will need a stent fitted immediately. Once Ken woke up, he told everyone exactly what Cassie had done.
Back on the street, Cassie started packing her stuff into Tyrone’s car and planned to make her exit. Before she could take her leave, Tracy turned up and grabbed her by the hair.
The police soon turned up and broke the pair up before their scrap could get any worse, and arrested Cassie for drugging Ken.
