Coronation Street Star Breaks Down in Tears: The Devastating Pain After Surgery Revealed!
Former Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote has opened up about her painful battle with endometriosis following surgery. The actress, who played Katie Armstrong on the ITV soap, shared her struggles with severe bloating and hormonal imbalances, leaving her in distress months after undergoing a procedure.
Endometriosis is a chronic condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows in other areas of the body, causing extreme pain, fatigue, and severe bloating. Despite undergoing surgery last year, Georgia revealed that she continues to suffer from debilitating symptoms, leading to frustration and emotional distress.
Taking to Instagram, the actress shared images of her stomach during flare-ups, describing the experience as “absolutely awful.” She admitted feeling devastated that the surgery hadn’t fully relieved her symptoms. “Hormones everywhere, pain, no one understanding,” she wrote. “They just try to give us tablets that can cause early menopause—it’s a joke!”
In an emotional video, Georgia tearfully spoke about the toll endometriosis takes on those suffering from it. “What we have to go through hormonally is unbelievable,” she said. “We have conditions like PCOS and endometriosis, and we deal with the bloating, the pain, the fatigue, and the mood swings. Yet, we still get up and keep going. It’s exhausting.”
As part of Endometriosis Awareness Month, Georgia praised fellow women battling the condition, calling them “warriors” for enduring daily struggles. She expressed her hopes for greater understanding and more effective treatments in the future.
Georgia first appeared on Coronation Street in 2010 as Katie Armstrong, who had a relationship with Chesney Brown and shared a son, Joseph. After leaving the soap in 2015, Katie was later killed off-screen in a car accident in 2017.
