Emmerdale’s Ross Barton Teases Unlikely Team-Up with Robert Sugden – The Battle for Aaron Dingle Just Got DIRTIER!

Prepare for the ultimate game-changer! Emmerdale star Mike Parr has dropped a bombshell, hinting that his character Ross Barton could “join forces” with returning villain Robert Sugden! The Dales is bracing for an explosive new dynamic that no one saw coming! Beloved Emmerdale star Mike Parr, who famously portrayed Ross Barton, has just ignited a wildfire of speculation, revealing his fervent hope that Ross will “join forces” with his former enemy, the recently returned soap icon, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley). This shocking potential alliance promises to twist the already volatile landscape of Emmerdale, particularly as Robert intensifies his ruthless bid to win back Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller)!

Mike Parr first graced Emmerdale screens as Ross Barton back in 2013, making a memorable (and notorious) debut by carjacking Laurel Thomas. He quickly became a full-time fixture, charming and infuriating viewers in equal measure, until his departure in 2018. After a six-year hiatus, Ross made a dramatic return to the Dales last October, first seen in a brutal unlicensed boxing match with Billy Fletcher.

Viewers will vividly recall the complex history that binds Ross and Robert. Ross originally left Emmerdale for a fresh start in Liverpool, taking with him his son, Sebastian, whom he shares with Robert Sugden. Robert himself made his dramatic exit from the soap in 2019 after being charged with the murder of Lee Posner, who had tragically raped his sister, Victoria Sugden.

However, Robert Sugden is back, and his return has been nothing short of sensational! He made a breathtaking appearance on the wedding day of his ex-husband Aaron Dingle and John Sugden, making his intentions chillingly clear with a heartfelt confession: “Every single second I was inside, I never stopped being in love with you.” As viewers questioned why Robert was out of prison, he delivered a shocking revelation, claiming: “You already know that Lee got into a fight with his brother and hit his head on the day that I attacked him. If that hadn’t happened, he might not have died when I did what I did.” The pair then shared a passionate kiss, witnessed by a stunned Chas Dingle, but Aaron, shockingly, still went ahead and married John, while Robert ended up back in prison for missing his parole meeting. Speaking on Lorraine, actor Ryan Hawley, who plays Robert, teased: “Robert’s back. He’s coming back to try and win Aaron back, he’s going to put a stop to John.”

With Robert now unequivocally back in the Dales and fighting for Aaron, a critical question arises: what about their son, Sebastian? When Ross returned to the village alone last year, he revealed that Sebastian’s mother, Rebecca, had sadly died, and Seb was living with her aunt in Bristol.

Speaking to The Mirror, actor Mike Parr addressed this very question: “That was my first question. I thought surely either we are gonna be fighting over this kid or we will try to get him back.” He then cheekily added, “I don’t know which I would rather, I mean I tried to shoot him, he stole my weed the last time he was there.”

But it’s Mike Parr’s latest revelation that truly sets the stage for a dramatic shake-up. Despite their tumultuous past – a past that included Ross trying to shoot Robert and Robert stealing Ross’s cannabis – Mike hopes that Ross and Robert could form an unlikely, yet formidable, alliance. “They are always fighting but they might be a good team to work together, and maybe it would be good if they did join forces,” Mike shared, fueling immense speculation about what this partnership could mean for Aaron, John, and the wider Dales.

The thought of Ross Barton and Robert Sugden, two of Emmerdale’s most complex and often morally ambiguous characters, putting aside their differences to achieve a common goal (perhaps getting Sebastian back, or even working together against John Sugden) is an electrifying prospect. This unexpected team-up could rewrite the rules of loyalty and revenge in Emmerdale, leading to unprecedented levels of drama.
