Emmerdale star hints at John’s downfall in unaired scene as Owen ruled out as killer

Emmerdale’s Amy Walsh’s comments to The Mirror may have given away that Owen isn’t in the frame for Nate Robinson’s murder for very long, and John Sugden could still be exposed

John Sugden’s plan to frame Owen for Nate Robinson’s death on Emmerdale could be set to backfire.

After spoilers teased John would frame the dead character as being the killer, there’s a couple of things that could derail his plan. Not only does it turn out that Owen has an alibi for the day Nate was killed, but John’s brother Robert grows convinced John is hiding something after making a discovery amid Owen’s demise.

As Robert tells the police he has new information on Nate’s murder, will they realise Owen’s confession is fake? With John being behind it, might he be found out for this and the fact he’s Nate’s real killer?

Something actress Amy Walsh teased about the ongoing plot may have revealed just this. She recently spoke to The Mirror about Nate’s funeral and the fact her character Tracy, Nate’s wife, was a suspect.

Tracy and Cain Dingle, Nate’s dad, have been blaming each other for weeks. After the funeral though they came together, deciding it had to be someone else.

The pair are in turmoil next week when the police confirm Owen’s death, before revealing he confessed to killing Nate in a suicide note. It seems they may not believe him though, or the alibi rules Owen out.

Amy told us that Cain and Tracy will create a list of all the possible suspects, but this scene has not aired yet. It seems according to a new teaser that this moment happens at some point next week, but it’s not clear what day.

In the teaser there are a list of names of villagers, and Owen is not on there – but John is, and his name is circled. Knowing Owen is found early next week and possibly before a list is made, surely this hints that the story about Owen does not stick.

Perhaps Owen is ruled out, and it leads to Cain and Tracy mapping out who else could be responsible. Of course there’s every chance the list scene happens before they find out about Owen, but surely the alibi will rule him out with detectives and Nate’s family.

Amy appeared to address Owen being framed, telling us: “It’s a bit of a rollercoaster. There is a shift with some new evidence that comes into play, but we don’t know if it’s evidence planted by John.

“Someone else might be put in the frame by John and it’s neither of them, Cain or Tracy. So there is another twist and turn there. To be honest we’re still filming stuff so we have only just been filming the bits where Tracy is accepting that it’s not Cain and they’re thinking who else it could be .”

This seems to be about Owen, so the fact after this they were still filming scenes around the characters investigating the real killer suggests that Owen does in fact get removed from the equation. As for the list, Amy told us: “Tracy and Cain do a little list together of who it could it be.

“We have ruled out some people we know.” Asked about John, Amy teased: “That was left on a bit of a cliffhanger actually. He’s the next name on the list…”

So with this scene unaired for now, there’s every chance it will air after the Owen stuff and it could well put the light onto John being the killer. So does this all hint his downfall is imminent, given his link to Owen too, and could this be the moment Cain and Tracy work it out?
