Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Leyla Harding’s (Roxy Shahidi) funerals confirmed three Emmerdale residents are hiding some pretty huge secrets from their friends and family.

Events planner Leyla was one of the three women who died during the limo crash disaster a few weeks ago.

Tonight, some villagers gathered in the church to say goodbye to her, while others made their way to a woodland location for the celebration of Amy’s life, who also died during the ordeal.

Both events reflected the two women in their own unique ways. In the church, Leyla’s loved ones arrived in suits and posh outfits, noting how she would always dress to impress.

In the woods, Vinny (Bradley Johnson) arrived with Chip the dog, with Vic (Isabel Hodgins) reminding him the pooch was very welcome, as Amy loved animals.

As the episode ticked along, we continued to hear narration from Leyla. She had a lot to say about her time in the village, but her words also helped introduce new storylines for three characters.

In the first flashback scene, we saw Tracy (Amy Walsh) in the shop talking to Leyla. In a brief moment, Tracy’s secret was exposed to us and Leyla. She immediately confronted Tracy, who desperately tried to find an excuse for her actions.

As Tracy spoke, she mentioned her ex-partner Nate (Jurell Carter). Tracy admitted to Leyla that she hasn’t received any maintenance money from Nate since his departure, and doesn’t understand why he’s just cut her and young Frankie from his life.

In the second flashback, we saw Mary (Louise Jameson) talking to Suzy (Martelle Edinborough). Following Suzy’s death, fans of the ITV soap began to wonder if she was hiding a secret from Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) about Mary and in the scene, her feelings for the two women were finally confirmed…just before Leyla found out as well.

It was the final flashback of the episode that perhaps left us the most intrigued. It focused on Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker), who has been somewhat coy whenever her phone has pinged in recent days.

Leyla’s discovery of Manpreet’s secret left her gobsmacked. After the funeral and the wake, the local GP stood alone in the village and received a text, but her facial expression was one of worry, a contrast from the smile she had on her face yesterday.

Now Leyla has taken these secrets to her grave, who will be next to discover what Tracy, Mary and Manpreet are hiding?
