Emmerdale’s Cain and Moira came to a conclusion about their future together after Cain’s one-night stand with Ruby Fox-Miligan.

A month ago, Cain and Ruby spent a night together after confiding in each other about their struggles – with Cain struggling with Moira’s brain surgery and Ruby disconcerted about her abusive father’s return.

During the limo crash, Cain was outed for having slept with Ruby by brother Caleb and word got back to a devastated Moira who asked for a separation.

In tonight’s episode, Moira told Cain to come over so that they could sit down and tell the boys officially about their split – but did the couple go through with it?

The episode began with good news for Moira, who was told by her doctor that her most recent scan was clear following her radiotherapy and she is now in remission.

She returned home and told Cain the good news, but the mood was cut short when Moira told Cain that she wanted to tell the boys about their break-up today.

Cain agreed to pop by after school to deliver the news to the boys, with Moira saying it was up to Cain to work out what to say and to take the blame.

Moira then headed to the pub to celebrate the end of her treatment, ordering a couple of whiskeys. She was interrupted by a concerned Ruby, who asked if Moira should be drinking considering her condition.

Moira then informed Ruby that she had ended her treatment and her marriage in one day, and was toasting to herself.

Gail ordered Ruby and Moira to take their conversation out back, where Ruby tried to talk some sense into Moira.

Ruby told Moira that she believes she is making a mistake and asked Moira to forgive Cain as he did when Moira cheated on him with Nate.

“You and Cain are made for each other,” Ruby said. “You need Cain, he needs you, it doesn’t get any simpler than that.”

Later, Cain arrived at the house early in preparation for telling the boys about their split.

Cain told Moira that he had accepted their breakup but was still in love with her and “hated” himself for what he did with Ruby.

At the mention of Ruby, Moira told Cain that she saw her in the pub earlier and that they had a conversation that made her think.

Moira then told a surprised Cain that she wanted to give it another go, who replied delightedly: “I’ll do whatever it takes.”

“Let’s just make it work,” Moira responded, pulling him in for a kiss.
