Emmerdale’s Jurell Carter has finally broken his silence following his character’s death.
Nate Robinson disappeared from the village last Autumn. He was offered a job in Shetland and hoped to start a new life there with Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) and their daughter Frankie.
Unfortunately, this happened at the same time rumours were circulating that Nate had started seeing Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) again. As a result, Tracy and Nate’s relationship fell apart.
He seemingly left the Dales a while later, but we never actually saw him depart on screen.
As a result, rumours started circulating that Nate didn’t leave, but was actually killed by someone.
That theory didn’t get confirmed until last month, when a limo crashed onto a frozen lake.
When Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) fell through the frozen water, she spotted a floating corpse. Unfortunately, Amy died in hospital as a result of severe hypothermia, which means Nate’s family and friends in the village still don’t know what really happened to him.
After keeping his character’s fate a secret for all this time, actor Jurell Carter recently opened up about how he felt when he got told about Nate’s final storyline.
‘Basically, I was told a little while beforehand about the plan for Nate. I had a meeting with Sophie Roper, one of the producers at Emmerdale, and she told me the storylines that would happen for my exit. It might sound cheesy, but I had goosebumps in the meeting’, he said in a chat with Digital Spy.

‘So I knew about it a while ago. Ever since I heard, I’ve been excited to see it play out. As the audience still doesn’t know exactly how it’ll go from here, I’m excited for them to see it now.
‘This is just the start of the unravelling. Amy has just passed away on the show and she knew that it was Nate down there in the lake. So obviously this is just the start of the audience getting to know what happened. I’m really excited for them to find out!’.
But does Jurell know who killed his soap alter-ego?
‘Yes, I know! (Laughs.) But I wouldn’t say anything because then it gives the storyline even more weight and power. When the unravelling does come about, it’s just going to be massive’, he explained.
‘By not saying anything, I feel like I’m giving the audience a treat just so they can see it for themselves, because it’s amazing. I think they’re going to be gripped to their seats.’
A few days ago, it was confirmed Tracy has been hiding a secret from her family as she tries to juggle being a single parent. She was caught stealing money from the till by Leyla (Roxy Shahidi), who wondered how Tracy could do such a thing to Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell).
Tracy explained that she doesn’t know why, but Nate hasn’t sent her any child maintenance money since he left.
Unaware of the truth, Tracy remains confused at the lack of contact from Nate, and steals cash to buy presents for Frankie’s birthday, or help pay the bills.
