Emmerdale actor Mark Charnock has praised one the soap’s newest stars.
Fred Kettle made his Emmerdale debut recently as the character Dylan, a young lad who befriended April Windsor after she ran away from home and was living on the streets. Even after her family found her, April continued to talk to him.
Marlon Dingle didn’t approve of that, and knowing Dylan had an addiction to spice, planted some ketamine on him in order to get rid of him.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other press outlets, Charnock had nothing but kind words to say about Kettle.
“I say this as objectively as I can, he is one of the best young actors I have worked with. He puts me in mind of so many of the great young actors we’ve got on this,” Charnock stated.
“He’s really into his job, he’s nuanced, he’s clever, he’s attentive, he’s really professional, he’s one of the team, he is everything you could want in a young actor.
“As far as I’m concerned, if he doesn’t go a long way, there’s something wrong with the business, he’s a really good actor.”

He also said he was “very proud” of April actor Amelia Flanagan for her handling of this tough storyline.
“She’s incredible you know – and again, I’ve said this so many times before – but she’s such a clever person,” he said.
“There’s so much going on that she doesn’t say that’s done with little tiny gestures that sometimes you can only just pick out because you have to be so close. She’s so mature, very professional, very much like Fred.
“Watching her having been very young in this to now being 16, it’s been an incredible journey watching her turn into the actress that she has become, and she is a proper, serious actress and I’m just full of respect for her.”
