Coronation Street has previewed a dark week for David Platt in a new set of spoiler clips.

David’s ongoing storyline takes a shocking turn next week as he makes the dramatic decision to take his own life – by hiring a hitman to mow him down in the road.

The Weatherfield favourite has been struggling with various family issues this year. He still owes money to gangster Harvey Gaskell, who’s making sinister threats against the Platts.

David is also about to lose his stepson Max Turner from his life, as the troublesome teenager is sentenced over the recent arson incident at the Platt house.

Corrie‘s first spoiler clip for next week shows Shona Platt and Lauren Bolton arrive at court to support Max on the day of his sentencing.

Both are frustrated when David fails to turn up on time, but he finally makes an appearance and the family share an emotional moment.

As seen in a second spoiler clip, David dwells on his impending death later in the week after making the arrangements for the hit to take place.

Looking to the clock, David sees that he has got just seven hours left to live.

Finally, a third spoiler clip shows Carla Connor in turmoil after a mysterious break-in at her flat.

With painkillers missing, it’s clear that Carla’s brother Rob Donovan must be responsible.

Carla storms out, desperate to find out why her sibling is still lurking in the area while on the run from the law.
