Emmerdale‘s Marlon Dingle resorts to ruthless tactics to get rid of show newcomer Dylan next week.
Marlon turns manipulative as he worries that April Windsor’s new friend is a bad influence on her.
Fred Kettle has reprised his role as Dylan, who was first seen in April’s special flashback episode last month.
Dylan befriended April when she was alone and vulnerable on the streets after running away from home. April is now trying to reconnect with him, as she has struggled to adjust back into her life in the village.
Next week, Ross Barton advises April that Dylan will need professional help to tackle his spice addiction.
Shortly afterwards, April’s stepmum Rhona Goskirk realises that ketamine has gone missing from the drugs cabinet at the vets.
Dylan denies being responsible when suspicion unsurprisingly falls on him. April is left dismayed when the stolen drugs are found in Dylan’s coat pocket.
Once they’re alone, Marlon confesses to Rhona that he planted the ketamine on Dylan to discredit him in front of April.
As Rhona despairs over Marlon’s bad choices, the couple are horrified to learn that Dylan has suffered an overdose.
Dylan is admitted to hospital in a critical condition. Marlon is overwhelmed with guilt and considers clearing Dylan’s name, but Rhona warns that it’ll only drive a wedge between him and April again.
Later, Dylan regains consciousness and is taken aback as Marlon confesses to his nasty act. The young lad agrees that it’s best April doesn’t find out.
Marlon is touched by Dylan’s mature attitude towards the situation and arranges for him to get help in rehab.
Before Dylan leaves, though, he insists that he has something to tell April. Has he changed his mind over protecting Marlon’s secret?
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Monday, March 10, Tuesday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 12 on ITV1 and ITVX.
