‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: DOOL Hit The Streaming Platform In September 2021
The streaming platform believes in the show. DOOL has proven to be a massive success. The Days spin-off, Beyond Salem, started on Peacock in September 2021.
It came as no surprise that when NBC discontinued Days in September 2022, Peacock was quick to pick up the show.
According to Soap Opera Digest, DOOL has consistently ranked among the top 15 entertainment series on the platform since its arrival on the streaming service.
Fans know that Days is not your average soap. It showcases a unique brand of storytelling. It includes a bold use of science fiction.
The soap famously features supercouples who stand the test of time. The writers incorporate sharp dialogue, and a witty sense of humor into DOOL. The show has delighted viewers for over half a century.

Keeping up with shifting values and world views, DOOL has always evolved with the times. The core families in Salem, including the Bradys, the Hortons, the DiMeras, and the Kiriakis, will continue to be on our screens for at least another two years.
Salem is different from every other fictional soap town. The show was created by Executive Producer Ken Corday’s parents, Ted and Betty Corday. It was spearheaded by legendary soap writer Irna Phillips, who developed the formula for modern soap operas.
This past year proves why DOOL deserves the boost it’s received from Peacock. Sadly, the show has had to say goodbye to two major cast members and characters.
The late Drake Hogestyn, who played the iconic John Black, and the late Bill Hayes, who portrayed the town patriarch, Doug Williams, passed away.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: The Soap Has Gone Through A Major Transition
It has undergone a major transition following Ron Carlivati’s exit as head writer, with Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford taking the reins.
The soap recently received an impressive and well-deserved 13 Emmy nominations. It has also been nominated for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series.
The show, garnering 13 nominations, is significant as it’s the highest number of nominations the show has earned since its historic debut on Peacock.
Moving forward, the renewal promises more excitement, mystery, and drama for Days fans. The DOOL summer preview showcased what’s to come for Salemites.
Johnny DiMera’s (Carson Boatman) trial kicks off with Johnny’s father, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerreigel) representing him as his lawyer. EJ is going up against his girlfriend, Belle Black (Martha Madison), in court. Little Rachel Black (Alice Halsey) will also be forced to testify.
The baby mama drama from Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) continues. Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) is enlisted by Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) to seduce Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) and Phillip Kiriakis (John Paul Lavoisier) in a bid to take back DiMera. Not to mention, Sarah Horton Kiriakis kissing Brady Black as Xander looks on in fury.
There is also the shocker that Stefano DiMera (last played by Joe Mascolo) may be alive. We saw Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), recalling herself as “The Queen of the Night.”
Not to mention, we saw what looked like Dr. Wilhem Rolf (William Utay) potentially reviving the super villain in a cryogenic chamber as Tony eerily chanted, “Soon, father.”
Additionally, the preview demonstrated why Days has been a mainstay in the soap world for 60 years, and we’re hopeful for many more years to come.
