Coronation Street’s Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) is horrified when her dad Ken Barlow (William Roache) makes a shock decision about Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) next week.

Wednesday’s episode of the ITV soap finally saw Ken realise that his former carer Cassie has been lacing his drinks for months in an effort to keep him dependent on her.

After Cassie then admitted to also stealing from his bank account, Ken felt utterly humiliated to have been taken for a ride and ordered her out of his house.

But just as he reached to call the police, Ken collapsed in agony. After being rushed to hospital, it was confirmed he’d suffered a heart attack.

Back on the Street, Cassie prepared to skip town, but just as she was loading her suitcase into the car, Tracy approached and slapped her, with the police following closely behind to arrest her.

Next week, Ken is recovering from his heart attack well, but reaches a big decision about Cassie when he hears Fiz and Tyrone Dobbs (Jenny McAlpine and Alan Halsall) have thrown Cassie out of number nine.

Feeling troubled about his former friend’s plight, Ken tells Tracy he won’t be pressing charges as Cassie’s already lost everything.

With Tracy incredulous about his sudden change of heart, could she take matters into her own hands?

Meanwhile, Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) manages to convince Tyrone to go for a drink with Cassie, but can he forgive his mum?
