They know that it has been a rollercoaster journey for the couple, ever since they gave into their feelings for one another last year, affectionately becoming known as ‘Swarla’.

More recently, Lisa’s therapy sessions have appeared to be opening a can of worms for her when it comes to her past, especially with her late partner, Becky, who died in the line of duty and who we have discovered was being investigated for corruption before her death.

But before then, Carla turned down Lisa’s ‘marry me’ request as it came amid her shock and upset at the death of her friend and policing colleague, PC Craig Tinker, because Carla wanted the proposal to come from love, not grief.

An, following her latest therapy session and a run-in with her boss, Costello, as she was caught trying to access Becky’s files, Lisa was seen deciding to put the constant speculation about her wife, who was being investigated for corruption before her death, behind her.

As viewers saw, Lisa took off Becky’s wedding ring and told Carla that she was ready to move forward and fully devote herself to her and their relationship. It was then, during Monday’s (August 3) Corrie, that fans watched the loved-up couple move into No.6, starting a history-making chapter for the Connor-Swains.

Now, there’s been an update on Lisa’s career, while she’s blissfully unaware that Carla is planning to pop the question. Spoilers have already revealed that Carla confides in Ryan Connor that she’s going to propose to Lisa, leaving him thrilled.

Later in the week, at No.6, Carla checks the post and confides in Ryan that she’s waiting for an engagement ring, but Lisa clocks them and wonders what they’re whispering about. Meanwhile, Lisa shows Carla a jewellery website and reveals her plan to have a ring made for Betsy’s 18th birthday, incorporating Becky’s fingerprints.

It’s not until the end of the week that Underworld boss Carla excitedly takes delivery of the engagement ring. Carla goes on to call at the Rovers and, handing the engagement ring to Glenda Shuttleworth, asks her to slip it into Lisa’s glass of champagne when she arrives.

A new spoiler video has now revealed what happens when the ring arrives. With Ryan present at the time, while excited, and also nervous, Carla admits to him: “I have never given an engagement ring to anybody.”

Ryan replied: “You’ve done a lot of things, with anybody, but you don’t regret them do you? Anyway, she’s already asked you herself, hasn’t she?” But Carla nervously replied: “Yeah, but her head was all over the place then. Now she’s thinking straight, she might not think I’m such a catch!”

Lisa soon arrives home and with milk in hand, she moaned: “Honestly, the price of this.” It’s then when she gave an update as she quipped: “I felt like nicking Dev for daylight robbery, especially now I’m off desk duty!”

She then enquires when Carla and Ryan are up to, and they successfully hide the true contents of the parcel. Once gone, Carla admits she’s a “bag of nerves” and when she speaks about her plans to pop the question, Carla is thrown when Ryan assumes that Lisa would want a big romantic gesture to accompany the proposal.
