Coronation Street fans reckon they’ve sussed out the true identity of Kit Green’s biological father, and he’s a face we all recognise.

Kit (Jacob Roberts) first appeared on the ITV soap last year as Bernie Winter’s (Jane Hazlegrove) long-lost son – who she gave up for adoption nearly three decades ago.

All Bernie knew was that his name was changed from Zodiac to Christopher ‘Kit’ Green shortly after his birth. However, Kit soon arrived in Weatherfield and discovered the truth.

Since then, it’s safe to say Kit has stirred up quite a bit of drama while getting acquainted with his newfound family, including sister Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell).

From driving Corrie legend Beth Tinker (Lisa George) out of town, to narrowly escaping death at the hands of Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton), Kit’s time in Weatherfield has been anything but dull, reports the Daily Star.

Particularly recently, when he was left stunned after discovering he is the actual father of troublesome teen Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey). In recent weeks, Kit has shown eagerness to forge a bond with Brody, who seems to reciprocate the sentiment.

In Friday’s episode (August 8), Kit took Brody out for a meal, which didn’t go down well when Brody realised Kit’s girlfriend Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) was also present.

During the uncomfortable dinner, Brody made it clear he wasn’t keen on Sarah. Attempting to smooth things over, Sarah reminded Brody that Kit never met his biological dad and he should make an effort to get to know Kit.

Fans have ‘worked out’ a shock Kevin twist

After the bombshell “biological dad” remark, eagle-eyed Corrie fans have been piecing together clues and reckon they’ve sussed out his identity. In a twist that could shake things up on the street, they believe he’s already a familiar face in Weatherfield.

One switched-on fan speculated on a Corrie Facebook group, saying: “So Kit has a different dad to Gemma have Paul then? I’d put money on him showing up soon,” Another fan threw Kevin Webster (played by Michael Le Vell) into the mix as a potential dad.

“Probably turn out to be Kevins,” they pondered. A third added their two pence worth: “It definitely wouldn’t be the strangest thing to have happened.” Echoing the sentiment, another said: “True, if they retcon a few things it could work.” And a fifth fan noted: “They look similar as well.”
