Emmerdale aired Marlon Dingle and April Windsor’s reunion in the Wednesday’s (February 5) episode.
April went missing over Christmas and after Marlon and Rhona Goskirk learned of her whereabouts earlier this week, yesterday’s episode flashed back to what had happened.
It was revealed she’d been living on the street while pregnant and had a stillbirth in a public toilet.
At the start of tonight’s episode, Marlon and Rhona arrived at the hospital where April was being treated and soon learned of the stillbirth from the receptionist.
An obstetrics and gynaecology registrar explained that the normally straightforward procedure had been made complicated by how long April was haemorrhaging before she got to hospital. They shared they had to transfuse her with more blood.
As the duo weren’t able to see her just yet, all they could do was wait.
Not longer after, they saw April being wheeled into surgery and were told that she was fighting an infection.
“I wanna stay with her, she needs me,” Marlon pleaded. “She has to know that we’re here.”
Again, they were told to wait as April was sedated and they couldn’t delay the surgery.
An agitated Marlon started to think up theories about what might have happened, suggesting maybe April was coerced or forced into getting pregnant. But Rhona told him focus on the here and now, and calmed him down.

The registrar eventually returned and told them the surgery was a success but she was still very weak. They explained she could only see visitors one at a time and they shouldn’t try and overload her with questions.
Marlon worried about what to say to her. Rhona assured him that he’d be okay and suggested he let April take the lead.
Finally reunited with his daughter, Marlon was tearful but elated. April didn’t say anything, but allowed him to hold her hand.
“We don’t have to talk just yet, but I just have to say: ‘I love you.”
Will the two be able to work through everything that’s happened and rebuild their relationship?
