Coronation Street stars and real-life ‘besties’ Charlotte Jordan and Lucy Fallon have thanked the ITV soap for introducing them in a sweet social media post.
Though characters Daisy Midgeley and Bethany Platt were involved in an ongoing feud over Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), actresses Charlotte and Lucy couldn’t be closer.
Taking to Instagram, they shared a video comparing their similarities with an audio about friendship, alongside the caption: ‘Same girl different font.’
‘We would like to thank coronation street for the intro ty lysm,’ they added.
In an additional comment, Lucy emphasised: ‘Just two besties ty corrie.’
The post was met with a lot of love from both fans and co-stars, with Lauren Bolton actress Cait Fitton writing: ‘This is cute, beautiful girliessss.’
‘Omgoodness,’ Sally Carman, who plays Abi Webster, added with a series of crying and yellow heart emojis, while Shona Platt star Julia Goulding said: ‘You two are the cutest!’
Fans were also quick to comment, expressing their appreciation for the stars.
‘This is so cute, I love them both,’ one wrote, while another penned: ‘BEST DUO EVER!’
Charlotte and Lucy worked closely together for the past few months as their characters engaged in a complicated love triangle.
Almost immediately after returning to Weatherfield, Bethany rekindled her romance with Daniel, leaving Daisy gutted, as she still had feelings for him.
Just before Christmas, Daniel cheated on Bethany with Daisy. Despite the betrayal, he got down on one knee on Christmas Day and asked Bethany to marry him.
To complicate matters further, Daisy witnessed the proposal, and then found out she was pregnant.
A few weeks later, when Bethany was gloating about her wedding plans in the Rovers, Daisy dropped the bombshell that Daniel could be her baby’s father, after their one night stand.
Bethany was horrified and immediately called things off with him, before moving to London for a new job.
Daisy and Daniel have since got back together, though it hasn’t been a smooth journey.
In the coming weeks, Daisy is also set to leave the cobbles behind as Charlotte exits the soap after five years.
With Bethany set to return following Lucy’s maternity leave, will Daniel fall back into her arms? Or could he end up leaving with Daisy?
