Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) has a line in Emmerdale, and said line was crossed by Ella Forster (Paula Lane) in tonight’s episode.
The two characters have been avoiding each other ever since Chas got with Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson). The dynamic has been terribly awkward, but Ella and Chas have decided to be adults and carry on with their lives.
Famous last words.
In tonight’s episode, Liam returned to the surgery. He had been off work following the limo crash, and headed back to sort a few things out with Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker).
Liam said hello to Ella, who works as the receptionist there. She smiled but primarily ignored him, and he couldn’t quite understand why.
That evening, Liam found Ella in the street. He expressed his thoughts, assuming the weird vibe between them was because Ella hadn’t moved on.
Embarrassed, Ella said that she’s totally over Liam and he didn’t need to worry.
The next day, Liam and Chas arrived in the pub to see their friends and family had surprised them with an engagement party. It was primarily organised by John (Oliver Farnworth), who’s busy trying to get into Chas’ good books.
Unfortunately, his efforts were quashed when big ears Mandy (Lisa Riley) heard him secretly proposing to Aaron (Danny Miller). Mandy announced this to the whole pub so to Chas, it looked as though John was trying to steal her and Liam’s moment.

Recognising his mum wasn’t happy, Aaron pulled Chas aside for a chat.
She told her son that he shouldn’t feel as though he has to say yes to John as a repayment for everything he did regarding Anthony’s murder. Aaron said that wasn’t the case, but they didn’t realise John was listening in.
Outside, John’s attempt at clearing the air with Chas was interrupted by Ella, who claimed she had no intention of turning up to the party, she just wanted a drink at her local boozer.
When Chas left, Ella ranted to John about her.
Just as she headed indoors, Ella spoke to Mandy but somehow ended up hitting Chas’ back, which was injured in the limo disaster. By this point, she was wound up and irritated, and reacted by saying that Ella hurt her deliberately.
She asked Ella to leave, but has Chas made the whole situation a lot worse?
If Ella’s behaviour spirals before she leaves the Dales, just what will she be capable of?
