Carla Connor (Alison King) gets a huge shock in Coronation Street next week when she learns that a dead body has been found.

The factory boss has been on edge ever since murderous brother Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) went on the run.

Having agreed to donate a kidney to ailing Carla, Rob took the opportunity to make his escape, kidnapping Carla and girlfriend Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) along the way.

Rob had been tricked by Lisa into believing that she would get his conviction overturned if he went through with the operation, and decided to get his own back.

However, when Lisa called for help, he snatched her phone and beat her unconscious with it.

Horrified that he had hurt Lisa, Carla pushed Rob down the stairs, where Lisa found him.

Believing he was dead, she told DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) to leave the crime scene and take Carla to hospital. However, by the time Kit returned, Rob had woken up and made a run for it.

Later this week, Carla is set to return to work, and is hopeful that Rob is out of sight and out of mind when she hears a report suggesting he has been spotted in Brighton.

However, when she gets back to the flat and finds the door open with signs that someone has been inside, she fears that Rob may be closer to home.

After surveying the mess and noting that her cash and painkillers have been stolen, Carla is certain that the break-in is down to Rob.

Though Lisa questions why he’d return to Weatherfield while the police are still on the hunt for him, Carla determines to find some answers.

Tensions continue to rise next week when Lisa finds that daughter Betsy Swain’s (Sydney Martin) bed hasn’t been slept in.

She begins to panic, terrified that Rob may have got to her daughter as part of his revenge.

When Betsy wanders through the door nursing a hangover, Lisa is overcome with relief, but makes it clear that, with Rob on the loose, it isn’t safe for Betsy to be out alone.

In true teenage style, Betsy brushes off her mum’s concerns and heads out anyway, but she soon realises that Lisa was right to be worried.

While walking through the precinct, Betsy becomes aware that she is being followed.

As she picks up her pace, the man also speeds up, and it soon becomes clear that it is Rob on her tail.

Later in the week, Lisa breaks the news to Carla that they’ve found a body near the hospital that might be Rob, and she needs to go and identify it.

As Carla enters the mortuary, will it be Rob on the slab?
