Coronation Street local Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) has been left feeling guilty in recent scenes as her plan to con Ken Barlow (William Roache) out of his hard-earned cash continued.
Cassie has been drugging the show stalwart with antihistamines to keep him feeling drowsy and relying on her to care for him.
With her plan having so far gone under the radar, Cassie has bagged herself a decent job and a roof over her head, as well as a romance with Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
However, recent scenes have seen her get more and more greedy, as she has pocketed Ken’s credit card on several occasions and taken to ordering herself a few treats online.
In tonight’s episode, Cassie headed out on a date with Steve, after receiving confirmation that her delivery of a new tablet was set to be delivered later that afternoon.
By the time they got home, both Cassie and Steve were surprised to find Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) with the tablet.
When Cassie asked where it had come from, Amy revealed that Ken had given it to her.
The man in question then appeared, revealing that he believed Amy could use it to help with her university work.
However, once alone with Cassie, Ken admitted that he couldn’t remember making the purchase, and it was clearly bothering him.
He emotionally confided in her that he was worried he was ‘losing his marbles’, as he hadn’t been feeling right for a long time.
Cassie tried to brush it off, assuring him that it was okay to have a ‘senior moment’.
Slightly more reassured, Ken asked her not to mention his concerns to the rest of the family, and she was happy to agree.
As he headed into the kitchen, it became clear that the effect of her actions was weighing heavily on her, as she battled with her guilt for leaving Ken feeling so frightened.
Will she put a stop to her plan after all?
