Former Emmerdale star Natalie Ann Jamieson has broken her silence on her exit from the soap, saying she was “proud” of her final episodes.
The actor exited the ITV soap tonight after her character Amy Wyatt tragically passed away following the devastating limousine crashes, which also claimed the lives of Suzy Merton and Leyla Harding.
Taking to Instagram following the airing of her final scenes, Jamieson – who played Amy for six years – shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the set as well as an emotional farewell message, in which she paid tribute to her colleagues and fans of the soap.
“Goodbye Amy 💔” she began. “I have had the best six years of my life playing this gobby Geordie with a heart of gold! What a way to go – so so proud of the cast and crew who achieved all this in these last few eps!
“I’ve got so many amazing things to say about @emmerdale but for tonight just thank you for everything! And thank you to everyone of you who came on the journey with me, and all your beautiful messages you have sent to me! Lots and lots of love 💕”
The post was warmly received by fans of the soap as they expressed sadness over Jamieson’s departure, with one user commenting: “you are amazing and will be so missed!! Amy was one of my favourites! can’t wait to see what you do next 🤍”
“Will miss you ❤️ Wishing you lots of luck for the future. Hope to see you on screen soon ❤️” wrote a second fan, with a third adding: “Natalie … you were just incredible! Blown away with your performance…. You should be very proud of yourself ❤️”

Jamieson’s exit comes after the departures of Martelle Edinborough and Roxy Shahidi as Suzy and Leyla respectively, with the trio succumbing to their injuries following a limousine crash in which the vehicle sank into a frozen lake.
