Earlier this year, it was reported that Tyldesley would be returning to the cobbles as feisty former barmaid Eva after seven years.

Since the news was confirmed, Tyldesley has been treating fans to a number of updates and has now shared one key part of her preparation for returning to the role.

Taking to Instagram, the soap star, who has sported a brunette look since leaving the ITV soap in 2018, revealed her blonde hair transformation.

Sharing a series of snaps of her new look, Tyldesley captioned her post: “Recent Blonde Shenanigans… I think they really DO have more fun!”

Coronation Street fans divided over Eva Price return

Tyldesley isn’t returning to the soap alone. The actor recently introduced fans to her new co-stars, who are set to enter the soap with her.

Former Shameless star Aaron McCusker is set to star as Eva’s partner Ben Driscoll and EastEnders star Pauline McLynn will play Ben’s mum Maggie.

Eva will take over the Rovers, while Ben is confirmed as the new landlord. Eva’s daughter Susie will also be making a return to the soap along with Ben’s two children.

Sharing a video to the soap’s official Instagram, Tyldesley said: “It’s Cath Tyldesley. I play Eva Price and I wanted to introduce you to my new family,” she said, before Ben and Pauline introduced themselves.

Speaking about the return of Eva, Corrie executive producer Kate Brooks said: “We are beyond thrilled that Eva is returning as the landlady of the Rovers, with her new blended family in tow.

“The Driscolls do not arrive quietly, so expect big drama, explosive secrets and raucous knees-ups galore.”
