General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that many speculated Rena Sofer was leaving the ABC soap as Lois Cerullo, since the actress and her husband, Sanford Bookstaver, announced they were leaving Los Angeles and heading to New York on social media.

Still, according to Soap Opera Digest (SOD), the actress will continue appearing on GH, despite her move.

Lois Cerullo Isn’t Going Anywhere

General Hospital spoilers remind viewers that Lois returned to the canvas in the fall of 2023 for what was initially meant to be a short-term run, but ended in her becoming a recurring player.

With that said, there are many GH cast members who currently commute to LA for filming, and as per SOD, Sofer is planning on doing the same to continue her run on the soap. In fact, the online mag has confirmed Sofer has dates to film in the studio sometime in September.

Lois is in a very hot storyline right now, as most of her family and friends, other than Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), are upset with her for keeping the secret that Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) was Brook Lynn Quartermaine-Chase’s (Amanda Setton) and Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna’s) biological son.

There’s so much more to play out with this arc, so it’ll be nice to know that Lois will still be around for it all to unfold.

One Of Many …

With Sofer’s move to New York, she’s one of a few GHers who commute to LA to be part of the show. Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) is moving to Nashville, TN, and will take a bit of a hiatus from Port Charles to get settled, and Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing) is also one who lives in New Jersey, but flies into LA for filming.

The actress debuted as Lois in 1993, and exited the GH canvas in 1996, only to make a splashing return in 2023. Sofer was also on CBS’s The Bold and the Beautiful from 2013 to 2022, playing Quinn Fuller.
