Coronation Street fans reckon they’ve sussed out who’s really responsible for the bruises on young Shanice’s arm, and it’s not who you’d expect.

The siblings made their first appearance on the ITV soap earlier this year, alongside their brother Brody (Ryan Mulvey), as Mick (Joe Layton) and Lou Michaelis’ (Farrel Hegarty) children.

However, recent weeks have been tough for the siblings following the arrest of both their parents.

As viewers will remember, Mick was jailed for murdering Craig Tinker (Colson Smith), while Lou is in prison for assaulting and blackmailing Gary Windass (Mikey North).

After Mick and Lou were arrested, Shanice, Jonnie and Brody were taken in by Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine), with the couple trying to bring some semblance of normality to the children’s lives, reports the Daily Star.

However, this week, Sally was left stunned when she found bruises on Shanice’s arm, after Joanie was sent to her room for squabbling over the telly with her younger sister.

Shanice claimed she got the bruises from a fall at school, but a shocked Sally shared her worries with Tim that Joanie might be the culprit.

Later though, after informing Brody about the situation, he quickly ended the conversation, and when Sally suggested they should inform social services, Brody begged her not to.

Now, fans believe they’ve figured out who’s really been hurting Shanice in a heart-wrenching twist. Sharing their theories on a Corrie Facebook fan page, fans suspect it could be Brody. One viewer wrote: “I think it’s Brody bruising Shanice.”

Another chimed in: “I thought the same especially when I saw Brody’s face tonight. He looked frightened but it looked more to me like guilt, rather than him being worried they’d be separated.”

A third fan speculated: “I think Brody is the abuser. I assume Mick abused him so maybe he did the same to his sisters.” Yet another added: “Bet that it is Brody that is abusing his little sister.”
