General Hospital is gearing up for an earth-shattering showdown as Jack Brennan is determined to hunt down the bad guys, and that could put him on a direct collision course with Jason Morgan! Why? Because Britt Westbourne – who was presumed dead – appears to be alive and entangled in Professor Dalton’s dark secrets.
Britt’s Return: A Survivor or a Forced Resurrection?
The mystery surrounding General Hospital’s Professor Dalton (Daniel Goddard) is finally beginning to unravel now that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is on the case for the WSB, and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) has taken an interest as the leader of the Port Charles Police Department. However, in a shocking twist of fate, it looks like Dalton’s enigma could be intimately tied to the unexpected reemergence of Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
As viewers know, Dalton is working on some kind of project, and his shadowy bosses are Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and a yet-to-be-revealed villain. While we still suspect Sidwell’s partner might be a familiar face like Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy), Jax (Sebastian RochĂ©), or Peter August (Wes Ramsey), we can’t rule out the very real possibility that Britt is working for Sidwell in some capacity. This is especially compelling given the timing of her sudden reappearance and her recent travels to France – the very destination where Dalton’s courier was headed.
Jason Dives In: A Hunt in the Land of the Dead
This brings us to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). He just happened to be at the French airport when Britt was boarding a plane, and he distinctly spotted her. Although logic tells him he must have been mistaken, as Britt is officially dead, he can’t ignore his gut feeling that she’s alive. Considering he was once thought to be dead himself and famously returned, he’s further emboldened to dig into this Britt mystery.
During the week of July 28, Jason is set to take his suspicions about Britt directly to Anna. We have a strong hunch he’ll seek Anna’s guidance on how to pursue this incredibly sensitive matter. Unfortunately for Jason, this could spell serious trouble.
We can easily imagine a scenario where it’s revealed that Britt is working for these soap villains unwillingly. Perhaps they’re blackmailing her, or maybe they’ve developed an illegal medical process that miraculously cured Britt’s Huntington’s Disease. If so, the good doctor might be forced to do their bidding as the steep price of her survival. Either way, she’s clearly in deep with these dangerous individuals.
The Inevitable Clash: Jack Brennan vs. Jason Morgan?
With all this unfolding, Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) is determined to uncover Dalton’s nefarious activities and lock up all involved parties. If Britt is tangled up in this, then Jack will likely go after her as well, regardless of whether she’s a willing participant or a coerced victim.
Knowing Jason, if he finds Britt and learns she’s in over her head and being forced to do things against her will, he’d undoubtedly try to save her by any means necessary. Even if that means directly interfering with Jack’s WSB investigation. And Jack wouldn’t take kindly to more interference from Jason on a case, especially considering Jason previously worked with Anna to help Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) escape for months.
Should our theory prove true, we’re incredibly eager to see how Jack plans to stop Jason in a Britt rescue. Jack better not let things get too out of control, as he’d surely hate to learn that no matter how strong his feelings are for Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), she’ll always have Jason’s back and jump to his aid.
